The Pine Tree Coffee Lounge is a charming coffee lounge and restaurant offering a mix of hot and cold food and hot and cold drinks. Alongside the assorted salads, home-made soup, sandwiches and jacket potatoes you will also find a regularly changing hot meal choice, including a vegetarian option and a dessert of the day. And, of course, a selection of scones, shortbread and home-made cakes, all served up in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. - About St Michael’s Hospice - St Michael’s Hospice was opened in 1987. Our philosophy is to provide a palliative car service for people who are suffering from advanced illness. We aim to help those facing progressive illness to achieve the best quality of life. Through a team approach we provide relief of physical symptoms and give emotional, social and spiritual support to patients, family and other carers. The support continues throughout the illness and afterwards into bereavement.

We also have a Day Care Centre where our patients find a warm and friendly atmosphere, companionship and support. As well as assessing and attending to medical needs, we are able to offer a variety of services, comforts and activities. The St. Michael “Hospice At Home” service was launched in 1995, in response to a need to extend its care more widely into the community. The Sara Lee Centre within the Hospice provides complementary therapies and counselling for all patients and their families. St. Michael’s Hospice exists to serve those living within the catchment area of Hastings and Rother, including Bexhill. We receive tremendous support from the local community and it is only with this support that the work of the Hospice is able to continue.
